Thank you so much for your interest!

We are excited that you are here and hope you find this information useful.

Our purpose is to support the learning, discussion and practice of the Ketogenic Way of Eating for those with lipedema.

A ketogenic diet is high fat, moderate protein, and very low carb (LCHF) that produces a state of ketosis, changing your system from a glucose burning one (produced by carbs) to fat burning.

One way of eating will not work for everyone.

That’s evident by the abundant diets and vicious cycles of diet/regain/diet again that most of us have tried again and again.

We are here to explore the KETOGENIC WAY OF EATING (Keto WOE).

Above all, we hope you find answers here, as we journey together on this path of healthy eating, healing and hopefully breakthroughs.

Summary

Katrina has struggled with her weight for her entire life, starting her first diet at age 10. As an overweight adult, she knew she was pear shaped, but she had never even heard of lipedema. In September of 2014, at 400 pounds, she began a ketogenic way of eating – high fat, moderate protein, and low carbs – and began to lose weight immediately. After about 6 months, her weight loss plateaued, so she joined a gym, hired a trainer, and began lifting weights 5 days a week. At the same time, she started both an Instagram and a Facebook page about her weight loss journey. After about 14 months on keto and 160 pounds lost, a follower on her social media accounts commented that her legs looked similar to the follower’s, and wondered if she might have lipedema. A simple Google search revealed the truth, and in February 2016, Katrina was diagnosed at Stage 1.
