My dad and I have recently started the Keto diet. I have tried everything, with minimal to no result. After two weeks I was down ten pounds, my dad, down sixteen pounds. It’s amazing! We don’t feel that we are starving ourselves of foods we crave and need, we simply have changed the way our body runs. After recent health problems, I had to take a break, but I can’t wait to get back on the Keto diet and hit my goal weight soon!

What is Keto?

The Keto diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet; forcing the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.

MACROS- What they are and how to track them!

Macros, also known as macronutrients, are your daily intake of the main three components; fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.

You can calculate your macros by going to the keto calculator.

How to start the Keto Diet?

Download an app to calculate your MACROS and keep track of your food for the day. I love using My Fitness Pal.

Create a meal plan; The key to success will be meal planning. You’ll want to make sure you have snacks and meals readily available for you so you won’t reach for something that’s against the rules of your diet.

Set up a few hours a week for meal prep. Preparing simple breakfast and lunches for the week will help you when life gets busy! Trust me, once you see success, you’ll want to keep going!
